Techno Spirit

>> It starts with a debate I had earlier about whether the information age/revolution is having a positive effect on spiritual living. Every concept, idea or opinion I have is base on a gut feeling. Once I have this feeling about some topic I need to translate it into hard neurological concepts so I can put it across to whom ever may be interested. So there we have a good example right? I have posted 'spiritual stuff' about how I interpret life using this relatively new technology called blogs. In this sense you could say that it is empowering me to be or act out my spirituality. The kink in the page is whether this in fact improves the development of spirituality. Lets take it back a little. Are there elements that complement or make up spirituality? For example freedom, unity, respect and love. My immediate assumption is yes obviously it is. But then what about suffering? Yes suffering is possibly a far more powerful way to spirituality growth then lets say freedom. To be not loved can give rise to profound spiritual insight possibly more so then being loved.
A lot if not most spiritual icons where faced with some kind of severe suffering (I think Paul in Philippians, an example among many, did most of his most profound actualization in harsh prison conditions). They where repressed and had little to no freedom jet in there struggles these individuals ingrained a deep and intense spirituality. So by creating for example democracy or, in light of the discussion, even further freedom to communicate across all barriers does that make us more spiritual or complacent?
